7. Conclusion: The Lord Buddha planned such a just and ideal state where the Sangha will work closely with the government as a partner. The main ideal of the Buddha's sovereign state apparatus was to integrate the political and religious administration The Greatest King Ashok of the Magadh empire in the then India was the first to tryto establish a state on the basis of Buddha-Dhamma. In the middle of 17th century a Tibetan Buddhist community named 'Galuk-Pa headed by Lama Chong-kha-par took over administration and made him the head of state. In Thailand the Sangha is playing a very important role for the society and government. Sri Lankan monks are increasingly participating in national politics,, becoming members of the parliament after contesting in general elections and forming their own political platform. They are enjoying all political and human rights. BRIEF BIOGRAPHY PROF.DR. SANJOY BARUA (GEORGE) Born in a scholarly Buddhist THAI AHOM family of the Indo-Pak-Bangla sub-continent Dr. Sanjoy Barua (George} completed his Higher Secondary school certificate examination and received 'O' and 'A' Level degrees from a noted Christian High English school-'Saint Gregory High school' in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Afterwards he entered the Dhaka University and completed B.A. and M.A. on Western Philosophy with Psychology and Religion. He also obtained Master's degree in the International Law. In 2003 he was awarded Ph.D degree in Comparative Philosophy by theMagadh korn University in India. He studied deeply the the Holy Tipitaka(of all traditions), the Hindhu Scriptures, The Bible, and the Quran while reading Religion at the university.. While studying at school and university Dr. George worked full -time in several leading English dailies- 'The Pakistan Observer',' The Bangladesh Observer' and' The Morning News' and edited several other dailies, economic and developmental research magazines devoted to the developmental problems and prospects of the L.D.C and Developing countries. He wrote many talks and broadcast for English listeners. In 1989 he was invited to teach Western Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion at the the Graduate and post-Graduate level at the Mahachulalongkorn Buddhist University. Since than he taught in the International program of the leading universities-Assumption(ABAC) University, Mahidol University ,Kasem Bundit University ,Saint Jhon University, Mahamukut Buddhist University, Mahapanya Vidyalaya University (in Hatyai, Thailand)a Mahayan Buddhist University; worked for leading English daily 'The Nation' for 5 years as a Sub-editor and copy editor snd as a news writer, editor and broadcaster for the foreign service of the Radio Thailand. Dr. George also worked as a legal adviser for the pioneering and leading Thai firm 'The Far East Law and Company Ltd. At present Prof. George is teaching Special English to the Ph.d and M.A. students of the Dhanbury Rajabat University center in Samrong,Bangkok. In his off times Mr. George loves to work as volunteer for the rural community development and teaches Yoga.
