Communism, not imperialism is the democracy of Buddhism

Bhikkhu Dharmeswar

ABSTRACT

The great spell that Mahakarunik Buddha preaches is that “All men are equal and you all should behave equally with all” This invitation removes all caste problems imposed by Brahmins in the entire India subcontinent. In that time, there were many problems in Indian subcontinent. But among them, caste problem was severe. The Brahmins preached that they are the holy people in the society because they are created from the mouth of Bramma. Other people in the society are created for to serve them only. No one could make any protest if they committed any crime. They said that people of other castes can get freedom after death if they satisfy Brahmins by serving them. Sudra people were mostly neglected in the society. Specialist think, because of this caste problem, the Indian subcontinent was going to the path of darkness. It is only Buddha who saved the people from slavery and showed the continent the light of wisdom. By sowing the seed of communism, He established the right of common people and also gave safety to all kinds of creatures. Buddha said, no one can be Brahmins by birth. He who doesn’t commit any sin through speech and mind, who is truthful, Just and ideal, is the real Brahmin. From this observation the famous journalist Amalendo Das Gupta wrote in his book “Thatagata” “Three religions are established in the society of mankind. These are Buddhism, Christianity and Islam. Here Hindu religion gets no place because of three reasons. Firstly, there is no exceptable definition of this religion. Secondly, there is no preacher of this religion and thirdly, this religion is not suitable for preaching. So, Hindu religion is called saint religion.

Tathagata Buddha is behind Buddhism. Jesus Christ is behind Christian religion and Rasul Mohammed is behind Islam religion. So, Hindu religion is not given any place in the religion division of the world. Though we find some similarities and differences between these three religions, but truly we find no similarities in the root of these three religions. Rasul Mohammed got the message from Allah when he was 41 years old and declared himself the man sent by Allah. And there is the source of Islam. When Jesus Christ was thirty years old, he heard the call of God and declared himself the Son of God. And there is the source of Christian religion. So, generally the question arises who called the Buddha? According to Buddhist Philosophy, the suffering of the world called Buddha. His birth was natural. The sufferings of people, the suffering of animals, caste problem and six perpetual truths, birth, diseases, old age, death, mourning and attraction compelled him to leave His family life. To save people in a critical moment and to establish peace, He gave His opinions against Imperialism and spoke in support of communism. On this basis, Emperor Ashok established a state in the India Subcontinent. Imperialism is permitted in the idealism of Islam; there is concrete proof of acceptance of imperialism in the idealism of Christianity, many sacred temples of Hindu religion were blooded for this reason. But Buddhism is founded to relieve the sufferings of people. It is only Buddhism where there is good in the beginning, in the middle and in the end. It is a great wonder in the history of world that no temple of Buddhist religion ever wet with blood. The largest Buddha statue established by emperor Kaniska was destroyed in the fire of revenge of Mullah Omar in Afghanistan. Then, no Buddhist state, community or world Buddhist organization comes forward to take revenge. This is the communism of Buddhism. Buddha himself was in support of communism and Buddhism is never used to spread imperialism. Moreover, Buddhism always stands strictly against it. Emperor Kaniska and kings of Pala Dynasty could spread their kingdom in the whole continent of Asia. But they didn’t do it because they believed in the communism of Buddhism. Maitry, Karuna, Mudita, Upekkha, forgiveness, brotherhood and communism made half of the people of the world into Buddhist of that time. Not only this, one third people of the present world is Buddhist. If it is asked what is the reason behind this success? The answer will be that not war, communism is the democracy of Buddhist religion. Most of the people of the world use religion for their own interest. So, it brings destruction instead of good. Religion should be used for the welfare of mankind, for the need of world peace and against the imperialism. Besides this, it should be used to spread communism. In this regard, Saint Bebakananda said that Buddha never made any compromise with the social custom, caste problem or Brahmins. He always tried to make justice fearlessly with his wisdom. This kind of fearless search for truth and love for all creatures he thinks no one can ever show.

World famous Great poet Rabindranath Tagore said “The great Buddha meditate only to relieve the sufferings of people. He sacrifices everything even for the poor, distressed and neglected people. No preacher made this kind of sacrifice. There is no place for lie, trick and cunningness in Buddhism.”

We all should stand against Imperialism, terrorism and caste problems. We will become successful if we use communism as major weapon. There is no alternative to establish a democratic society without communism.
